Enough Is Enough: Mike Tomlin Must Go

Mike Tomlin Must Go

Flashback from the 2020 Season

Absolutely NOTHING Has Changed in 5 Years

(except the team is less talented now)

Jan 11, 2021 - Thank you for all you've done, Coach Tomlin. We will always be grateful for the 6th Lombardi Trophy you brought to Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLIII.

Unfortunately, after a smoke-and-mirrors 11-0 start, you've lost 5 of the last 6, culminating in a disasterous playoff game in which your team gave up 28 points in the first quarter alone to a Browns team without a head coach. (???!!!)

It's been 12 years (update: 17 years) since the Steelers have won a Championship, despite fielding numerous teams loaded with talent. There have been too many seasons where the team has underachieved under your leadership, repeatedly "playing down" to the competition and losing to inferior teams, looking woefully unprepared while doing so.

Meanwhile, the clock is ticking LOUDLY on our HOF QB (Note: Big Ben then, Aaron Rodgers now).

It's been painfully clear for years that your locker room lacks discipline. From LeVeon Bell to Antonio Brown to Juju Smith-Schuster (who seemed like such a good kid when he first came to Pittsburgh), the inmates have been running the asylum for some time. You know it's reached the tipping point when your own players characterize the locker room environment as "The Kardashians" due to all the drama.

It is time for new leadership NOW.

I'm not naive enough to believe Coach Tomlin is going anywhere anytime soon. But sadly, it is my belief that until the Steelers have the courage to replace Tomlin, this team -- despite a Hall of Fame QB and despite all that surrounding talent -- is not going to sniff a 7th Lombardi. I sincerely hope to be proven wrong.

Maybe next year... 🙄
