2017 Steelers at Bears ![]() The Steelers unravel in Chicago with turnovers and missed chances fueling the upset. Two early fumbles gift Chicago points, and Pittsburgh spends most of the day playing catch-up. Big Ben finally sparks life with a TD to AB late in the first half, but the half ends in chaos. With 6 seconds left, an untouched edge rusher blocks what should've been a chip-shot game-tying FG for Boswell. Chicago scoops up the ball and races downfield for a sure TD, but the returner slows to showboat a la Leon Lett and a hustling Vance McDonald swats it out of his hand just shy of the goal line. The ball rolls into the end zone and a Steeler bats it out of play. After review, because the illegal bat is on Pittsburgh, Chicago gets one untimed down and kicks a 24-yd FG. The defense briefly swings momentum in the 3rd. Shazier rips the ball away deep to set up Bell's first score of the season, and Wilcox's INT deep in Bears territory sets up a Boswell FG to tie it. But in overtime, the Steelers never touch the ball. Chicago receives and runs straight through them, capping a 220-yd rushing day on Jordan Howard's embarrassingly easy 19-yd stroll into the end zone to win it. |
