Back in BLOCK!
A fan-inspired petition proposing that the Pittsburgh Steelers restore the player jerseys back to the block number style
Submitted by SteelThePain82
We, the Steeler Nation, have debated and come to conclude that in majority, we believe that the classic style "block numbered" jerseys should be reinstated as the team's uniform style.
It is our belief that this classic jersey style represents a great part of the blue collar tradition and history of the football organization we have grown to know and love.
It is also a desire of ours to see present and future players of our great team once again wear the same jerseys that graced the shoulders of a generation of Steeler teams who not only produced 4 Super Bowl Championships but also a long list of legendary players that are now enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
We ask you to please take our request into consideration in hopes that we can once again see future generations of Pittsburgh Steeler players wearing these jerseys that we feel are so rich with Steeler history as well as giving us the opportunity to purchase and wear this style jerseys of our present and future favorite Steelers.

Wild Kingdom Fact: An adult walrus has (by far) the largest tear ducts of any mammal. It's true!

Memo to Holmgren,
Seahawk fan(s), and Steeler haters:
Commentary by Meat
Dear yinz:
I'm really sorry that you think the refs took your Super Bowl away from you. While you're crying, it might be neat-o for you to watch the replay of the Steelers-Colts playoff game from this year to see how a real team overcomes questionable officiating. Somehow, even though the Steelers got totally ripped off by the officials in that game, they still won.
Oh, and coach Holmgren... I'm not hearing the NFL apologize to yinz after admitting they made wrong calls. Maybe that's because they didn't make any wrong calls. Questionable? Sure. Wrong? Nope.
Eat it, walrus.
"I drilled him!" "Lambert didn't see me coming until the last instant. He tried to square up but couldn't, and I drilled him -- just floored him. The play went for a score, and he got up cussing and yelling with the wildest eyes I've ever seen!" More... |

My Fight with Lambert
An entertaining first-hand account of a rookie tight end's encounter with Jack
Article by Mark Dufresne
I was a failed Steeler draft choice as a tight end coming out of Nebraska in
1978, but during my brief stint with the team, I experienced a couple of memorable Jack Lambert moments first hand that I thought your readers would enjoy.
Lambert was as intimidating in camp as he was in games... maybe even more so. Nobody
messed with Jack. NOBODY. His respect was solid within the team. He was his own man and was not
into political correctness in the slightest, because I believe his heart was
pure and he was comfortable within himself. At our first team lunch with the
vets in camp, we -- rookies and star veterans alike -- had to stand up and introduce
ourselves and the school we played at. When it came his turn, Jack stood up on
his chair and yelled out loud like a Marine drill sergeant, "I'm Jack Lambert,
I'm from Grambling, and if you don't like it, you can kiss my
skinny white a$$!" He sat back down without even a trace of a smile, and the
place went nuts, howling and laughing. Grambling is, of course, a predominantly "black"
state university in Louisiana.
