1989 Gibson Les Paul Standard
For the record, I've always been more of a Strat guy. They're incredibly comfortable, versatile and reliable. But there's no denying that in certain situations, a Les Paul can make a Strat sound like a toy. For straight ahead rock & roll, there's nothing that can compare to a Les Paul plugged into a Marshall. Fat city.

Furthermore, a Strat is no match for a Les Paul when it comes to beauty. My '89 Les Paul Standard has one of the best, most evenly blended heritage cherry sunburst finishes I've ever seen on an unfigured top. The photo at left doesn't begin to do it justice. It is quite the beautiful guitar.

The only modification I felt compelled to make was to change the typical "speed knobs" to the more stylish "top-hat" knobs for a little sleeker look.

One oddity about this guitar is that the all of the hardware is chrome except for the Grover machine heads, which are nickel (now faded). Strange, because all of the hardware is original.
