 A huge win filled with memorable, game-breaking plays! Ohio State seizes control late in the Cotton Bowl thanks to Jack Sawyer, who ends Texas' last real threat by strip-sacking former roommate Quinn Ewers and returning the fumble 83 yds for a game-sealing TD, the longest fumble return in CFP history. Sawyer also pressures Ewers into a 3rd-down incompletion just before the turnover. Quinshon Judkins runs for 2 TDs, including a 1-yarder to cap an 88-yd drive that eats nearly 8 minutes off the clock in the 4th. On that drive, QB Will Howard converts a 4th-and-2 with an 18-yd scramble. TreVeyon Henderson flips momentum just before halftime, turning a short screen into a 75-yd TD. He follows a wall of blockers, finds a seam, and outruns the Texas secondary, just seconds after the Longhorns had tied the game. Howard throws for 289 yds, 1 TD, and 1 INT.
