 The Steelers rally late but fall short after a failed 2-point conversion attempt with 1:03 left. Pittsburgh scores 3 TDs, including a 1-yd pass to Jerricho Cotchery on 4th down to pull within two, but Emmanuel Sanders cannot secure the game-tying conversion under tight coverage. Baltimore builds a 13-0 lead by the 3rd quarter, helped by a botched Steelers FG attempt and a 73-yd kickoff return by Jacoby Jones, setting up one of Justin Tucker’s 5 FGs. The Steelers fight back with an 8-yd TD catch by Sanders and a 1-yd TD run by Le'Veon Bell. Bell appears to score again late but is ruled down at the 1 after losing his helmet on the play. The Steelers score anyway on the next play (TD pass to Cotchery) but fail to force OT. Roethlisberger finishes with 257 yds and 3 TDs, but the Steelers can’t overcome earlier miscues, dealing their playoff hopes a major blow. |
