2008 Steelers 23 at Redskins 6

Another fantastic performance by the Steeler defense. Washington takes an early 6-0 lead after a failed Steelers surprise onside kick and an INT of a tipped pass lead to a pair of FGs in the first 4 minutes of the game. From there, Pittsburgh's top-rated defense simply throttles Washington, sacking Jason Campbell 7 times, limiting Clinton Portis to 51 harmless yards and not allowing a Redskins first down until late in the 3rd quarter.

The Steelers take a 10-6 lead after a blocked punt gives Pittsburgh the ball at the Washington 13, setting up a Roethlisberger 1-yard TD on a QB sneak at the end of the first half. Ben reinjures his throwing shoulder on the score and Byron Leftwich (7 of 10, 129 yds, 1 TD) comes off the bench to seal the deal with a pair of 2nd half TD drives.

Meanwhile, Washington's only legitimate TD threat of the game ends on a failed 4th down attempt from the Steeler 1 after a brilliant goal line stand in the 4th quarter. In spite of this being a Washington home game, the stands are FILLED with so many towel-waving Steelers fans that the visiting Steelers players actually incite the crowd to make noise during several big defensive moments.
