No Silver Lining
Loss epitomizes season
Article by McMillen & Wife

I feel like I oughta say something, guys... but there's not much to say. A eulogy seems in order, but that's in bad taste until the victim has been "officially" pronounced dead.

I've been struggling with this for a couple of weeks now. I'm the type of person who like to find the silver lining in things. There is none. As a result, I've had very little to say about the Steelers lately.

I continue to have a genuine affection for this team, its players and its coaches. I love Bill Cowher. I love Jerome Bettis. I love Tommy and Hines and Plex and Kendrell and Porter and Faneca. I love 'em all, including Scott and Washington.

But I sure do hate what's happened to them as a team. It's a real shame.

There's very little good to say this week. Aside from Alan Faneca, who was quite brilliant, the team failed miserably in nearly every facet of the game. Turnovers, dropped balls, penalties, "questionable" play calling (I'm being kind, here), dumb mistakes and poor execution have characterized the entire season. Monday night in San Fran epitomized our struggles.

Dammit anyway.

From here on out, we play the role of spoiler. My expectation now is that we will split the remainder of the season, going 3-3 to finish 6-10. I PRAY that two of those wins come in Cleveland and Baltimore.

Until then, bruthas & sistas!
